Introducing EoFTTC to our Connect portfolio

Eclipse is continuing their mission to make technology easy and enjoyable for businesses, by launching a new leased line technology that allows businesses to connect to the Internet, or their private network, with full service level guarantees and 20Mb symmetric speeds from just £150 per month.

Currently available to 66% of business premises, with coverage set to continue growing.

EoFTTC (Ethernet over Fibre to the Cabinet) takes advantage of the billions of pounds that has been invested by BT Group and the Government in rolling out high speed fibre broadband across the UK, but with a twist – it’s been transformed into a fully business grade solution.

This new solution provides guaranteed symmetrical speeds of up to 20Mb with download speeds of up to 80Mb. Most importantly, it’s backed by a service level agreement worthy of the highest performance and traditionally higher priced fibre optic leased lines. This makes it perfect for business critical applications including IP Voice and hosting business applications in the cloud.

Already available at around two thirds of business premises, coverage is set to grow, underpinned by the government’s commitment to roll out fibre based broadband services.

“Our pre-release for this product has seen amazing customer feedback” comments Pete Tomlinson, Director of Product, Marketing & Sales at Eclipse. “Whether it’s one of our Not for Profit customers linking 50 residential homes to deliver new digital innovations in care, or a niche Gaming Developer now competing on a global stage. Having the ability to break the dilemma of broadband services being fast and well-priced, but fundamentally lacking the robustness of a business class solution, is a massive leap forward”.

The new Eclipse EoFTTC leased line service offers the following benefits to businesses:

  • Guaranteed speed of 20Mb symmetrical and up to 80Mb download
  • Optimised for business critical applications such as voice and video
  • Committed 8 hour fault fix time with pro-active performance alerts
  • Fast provisioning from only 15 days
  • Back up options via resilient business broadband services
  • Fully managed installation service offered
  • Available as an internet facing service or connection to a private network
  • Integration with other access technologies, such as Fibre, Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) or Bonded DSL

Having brought all these benefits together at a price point that businesses of all sizes can afford, demand for this access technology is expected to be strong, especially when a recent survey found quality internet connectivity was now underpinning the 86% of businesses running one of more cloud application.
