James Warner - Head of Direct Sales
Expertise: new business development, sales strategy, technical knowledge
I have worked for KCOM for 6 years in a customer development capacity and now lead our direct sales and account management teams. I enjoy directly engaging with our customers and taking their needs back into the business to support the transformation of our strategy and roadmap to better meet their requirements.
I am personally here to support our largest clients, ensuring a supportive customer partnership end-to-end. My career highlight would be working closely with the RNLI to improve their technology across the country in support of saving lives at sea.
When I’m not working, I love to ski (I’m an ex-ski instructor), and of course, Disney World with the wife and kids!
Henry West - Head of Channel Sales
Expertise: new business development, Partner relationships
The fast pace of technology attracted me to this industry and I started my career in the late 90’s working for hardware vendors in account management roles. After a short stint in direct sales, I soon realised that the indirect channel was for me. I am channel through and through and have enjoyed 9 successful years with KCOM.
Heading up our Partner team is truly rewarding. I am here to ensure that we make life as easy as possible for our Partners to do business with us, enabling our resellers with new products and services to help them meet their growth ambitions, and most importantly building a solid relationship to a true partnership. I’m proud to be part of the team that’s helped our reseller channel grow by over 300%.
In my spare time, spending time with family and keeping them entertained ensures I am always kept busy. Creating the space to enjoy social time with friends, all be it challenging to achieve, is a must!
Kathryn Askew-Smith - Programme Manager
Expertise: project management and delivery, communications, technology
I have been in project management for over 20 years, working in a range of industries including communications, technology, engineering and construction. I have been at KCOM for just under a year and am responsible for delivering our largest customer change projects.
I love making stuff happen and helping our customers get exactly what they need. It’s my job to make sure we keep the delivery promises we agree on throughout the sales process, making the change and implementation run as smoothly as possible.
When I’m not enveloped in Microsoft Project, I like to get out on the water in my kayak. I also love travelling – especially the food, and enjoy cooking dishes that remind me of the places I have been.
Nick Shepperd - Connect Proposition and Product Manager
Expertise: connectivity, proposition development, technical knowledge
I have been with KCOM for 9 years, building on an initial career in technical services and customer support. This has allowed me to put the voice of the customer first and foremost in every solution we develop. I love talking to our customers directly to really dig down into their needs, then filtering these back into new product development and existing product enhancements.
With our connectivity infrastructure being at the heart of our solutions, I am always on the lookout for faster, more resilient options to support our customers’ business services as they develop.
In my spare time, I’m an avid road cycler and sailor, always looking to stay fit, healthy and active.
Tom Ward-Scammell - Cloud Proposition and Product Manager
Expertise: Microsoft cloud services, proposition development, technical knowledge
I have worked for KCOM for nearly 10 years across 4 technically-specialised roles. Before that, I started my career with BT Business Broadband as part of their technical support team. I get a real sense of excitement around bringing new, industry-leading technologies to our customers and seeing how they can directly benefit from them.
As Cloud Proposition and Product Manager I am responsible for defining our cloud portfolio services and bringing them to market. A core component of this is managing our go-to-market relationship Microsoft with a specialist focus on their cloud solutions. I’m extremely proud to have led the on-boarding of KCOM as one of the first 10 UK Microsoft partners to their Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme in 2015.
Outside of work, music and surfing are my main passions, and I play guitar and bass in a band.
